1. No major setbacks

When you look back at just about every pivotal moment in the Golden State Warriors’ recent history, something always managed to go wrong.

The 2019 NBA Finals will never not sting. It is one thing for a star as generational as Kevin Durant to suffer a season-ending injury — but for Klay Thompson to follow him up is devastating. Then, toss in injuries to DeMarcus Cousins and Kevon Looney for complete disappointment.

Everything after that has been equally disastrous. Stephen Curry’s hand injury in 2019, Draymond Green losing interest during the same year, James Wiseman tearing his MCL, Andrew Wiggins disappearing in the 2020 Play-In tournament — and obviously, a global pandemic that put an entire season on halt (though, ending the 2019-20 season early might have been a good thing for Golden State).

So far, the Warriors have nothing holding them back. Sure, Wiseman’s return is murky and Klay is not back quite yet. But… this is by far the smoothest start to a season the Warriors have had in years.

Hopefully, jinxes do not exist.
