The Golden State Warriors are among the top teams that will be destined to have rumors spread around about what they may do the trade deadline.

The main reason for that is because they are tied for the top spot in the Western Conference, a position many didn’t think they’d be in a quarter of the way into the season.

The Golden State Warriors have the assets to bring in a major star; however, they aren’t expected to make James Wiseman a piece of any deal.

The more and more it feels like they’ll stay put and not do anything. Slowly, that thought process, which makes the most sense, is being confirmed. The few names tossed out there in rumors are Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and James Wiseman.

Let’s just say it would take quite a bit for the Warriors to give up any of those three despite what rumors may be spread. Wiggins wasn’t seen as a good fit with this team but has increased his efficiency and defensive presence quite a bit.

As for Kuminga and Moses Moody, they just have too much untapped potential. However, Wiseman is a bit different as they’ve seen what he could become. However, he’s still apparently off-limits for teams in trade talks.

Per a report from The Athletic, the Warriors are not going to trade James Wiseman. Wiseman has been a key piece of rumors. The No. 2 overall pick had reportedly bulked up this offseason and could be primed to make a major impact for the Warriors.

What that potential actually is capable of is clearly still unknown. What is clear is that Golden State feels like they’re playing with house money as their core has been absolutely phenomenal.

They’ve been so good this season that trading away a potentially key piece of their future isn’t ideal. Wiseman may not have shown superstar potential last season, but he did score 11.5 points per game. Wiseman also hit 52% of his shots from the field.

The 7-foot center didn’t learn to play without fouling as a rookie which will be key for him this season. With a return still a little ways off, Wiseman seems to be making good progress and has been doing on-court work.

While he would be crucial in any trade for a big-name star, the Warriors seem very against that at the moment, and it’s likely to stay that way until they figure out what he’s capable of in the long-term future.
