Stephen Curry is going to pass Ray Allen for the most three-point field goals made in the near future, and sadly, it’s more than likely going to be on the road, not in front of his home crowd at the Chase Center.

The record is currently being held by Allen who has a total of 2,973 triples in his career.

The Golden State Warriors fanbase will soon see Stephen Curry become the league’s leader in three-point field goals. Sadly, it won’t be at home.

Curry passed Allen for the most regular-season three-point field goals made earlier in the season, but Allen, who played a longer career for many championship-caliber teams, totaled a significant number of triples in the postseason as well.

Curry is going to be passing him up for total career three-point field goals, by his season average, against the Pacers on December 13. The Warriors have back-to-back games that will kick off a five-game road trip on the 12th and 13th, playing in Philadelphia and then in Indianapolis.

10 threes will do it against the Sixers, but the Warriors’ two-time MVP has yet to hit double-digit threes in a game so far this season. He’s hit 9 several times and now only had 9 more to go until the record is his.

At this rate, once he passes the record, he’ll likely extend it into unreachable territory. There is a small chance Curry tops nine against the Sixers, which would at least make it somewhat special for him as his brother, Seth Curry, plays for Philadelphia.

That chance increases with the fact that Curry is averaging the most three-point attempts of his career, and he shot his third-most threes in a single game this season in his last performance against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Averaging 13.3 attempts per game from deep, Curry shot 17 last game. He’s hoisted up 17 or more in five games this season. With the Sixers looking like one of the more competitive matches, he should be primed for a big game.

While that could mean breaking the record against his brother, I wouldn’t hold my breath and plan on eagerly watching him the next night against the Pacers.
