Why Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins is untradeable: His scoring

Andrew Wiggins has always been a scoring forward, and for a team that hasn’t had Klay Thompson for two full seasons, having him be able to step up and create offense has been huge at times.

Wiggins is the team’s second-leading scorer, behind Stephen Curry and just a tad ahead of third-year guard Jordan Poole.

While Wiggins isn’t quite nearing career-high levels, he’s been able to shoot extremely efficiently which is what the Warriors would prefer. Quality over quantity has been a motto that has helped the Warriors win championship after championship.

That said, Wiggins averaged 18.6 points per game last season and 18.5 points per game this season. He’s also molded his game to their system, averaging 2.2 triples per game, the most of his career.

Playing alongside Stephen Curry opens the floor up, and it’s been a huge plus that Wiggins has been able to capitalize on that spacing.
