Why Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins is untradeable: His efficiency

Andrew Wiggins is a terrific scorer. He was that in Minnesota. Wiggins, if he’s giving the right amount of energy, has always been able to be a top-tier defender. Both of those have been brought to the forefront of fans during his time in Golden State.

However, the biggest change that’s making it difficult to trade the star forward is his efficiency.

Wiggins is shooting a career-high 49% from the field. His 41% from three is also the first time in his career he’s topped 40% from deep. It’s just been an absolutely terrific season for the 6-foot-7 forward.

Wiggins ranks 14th in three-point field goal percentage among players that have taken at least 5 per game. He’s been that good from deep, and it’s mattered for Golden State this season.

The Warriors are 3-0 in games Wiggins has notched at least four made triples. His involvement is a difference-maker for this Warriors offense, and it’s been a key reason why he’ll not be on the trading block in the next several months.
