Golden State Warriors buy-low target: T.J. McConnell

Set to make $7.5 million this season, T.J. McConnell is a player more realistic for the Warriors to add.

What makes McConnell the quintessential backup point guard is his tenacious defense, instincts, and shooting. McConnell has just about everything you’d want in a player stepping on the court for Curry.

Currently with the Pacers, McConnell has missed the last few games. With Indiana having a sluggish start to the season, they could end up blowing up. Big-time names like Caris LeVert and Myles Turner would go off the board first.

However, McConnell is a player to keep an eye on. He’s averaging 8.4 points per game and is shooting over 50% from the field for a fourth-straight season. He’s also averaged over a steal per game in 6 of his 7 seasons.

McConnell is a gritty defender and a quality, efficient scorer. He’d be the perfect addition and still shouldn’t cost more than a second-round pick or so.
