Golden State Warriors can consider Marquese Chriss

A former member of the Golden State Warriors, Marquese Chriss was one of the few bright spots during the 2019-20 NBA season. Though he was shipped early last year, the Dubs were sad to see him go.

Could a reunion be in everyone’s best interest?

Chriss has not played since the 2020-21 season when the Dubs traded him after two games. Yet, the former lottery pick is only 24 years old and still has all of the athleticism that made him useful in the past.

Chriss can provide energy

In his first stint with Golden State, Chriss made the most of each minute by being an energetic player. He averaged 9.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in 20 minutes of playing time.

Recreating this production should not be too difficult for Chriss. He’d fill the same exact role as before and act as a backup for Kevon Looney. Rebound the ball, run the floor and do your best to clog the paint defensively — that is all Chriss would need to do to be successful.
