3 Warriors with the most to prove if Covid-19 protocols impact Dubs
Golden State Warriors player with most to prove: Damion Lee
Damion Lee was one of several that were given a start with the Dubs resting many of their starters against the Raptors.
While it was the Jonathan Kuminga show, Lee certainly made his presence felt, contributing 14 points on 5-for-11 shooting. Lee was 2-for-7 from deep, meaning he was 3-for-4 from inside the arc.
Lee has been a key member of the Warriors’ second unit. In order to keep getting minutes when Klay Thompson returns, Lee may need to show more in the coming weeks. He’s averaged 8 points on 42% shooting throughout the team’s first 24 games.
Known mainly as a shooter, Lee struggled to stay in the league for quite a while. However, he’s found a home in Golden State, shooting 39.7% from deep last season. He’s under 32% from deep so far this season though.
The Dubs need more from Lee, and he’ll undoubtedly be called upon more often if Poole continues to miss time. This is a huge opportunity for him to show his worth as the Warriors will eventually trim their rotation in preparation for a deep playoff run.
