Damion Lee is trending DOWN

The start of the season was kind to Damion Lee. He opened up shooting 50 percent from the 3-point line while serving as one of the Golden State Warriors’ top defenders on the perimeter.

Since then? Lee has struggled.

Lee is a woeful 26.8 percent from deep since the first seven games of the season. He has still been a reliable defender but without much playmaking ability or shot creation — Lee serves little purpose.

A cold spell like this was sure to come. It happens to everybody. Considering Lee is a career 36.2 percent shooter, we can expect him to find his stride again. Until then, however, Lee could find himself buried in the rotation.

Klay Thompson’s return and Jordan Poole being assigned to the bench will knock Lee down a few pegs. Add in the rise of Gary Payton, the consistency of Otto Porter and the potential emergence of Jonathan Kuminga and Lee might end up as a deep reserve.
