Golden State Warriors potential trade target: Christian Wood

There are only a select amount of players that the Warriors should even consider trading for, and one of them is Rockets star center Christian Wood. Prior to losing his streak against the Hornets, Wood had four straight games in which he scored 20 or more points.

Wood is currently averaging 17.2 points per game, the second-highest average of his career. On top of that, Wood is bringing down 10.9 rebounds per game. It’s the first time in his career which he’s averaging a double-double.

Over the last two years, Wood has also made himself a competent outside threat, hitting over 1.5 threes per game. Prior to last season, he hadn’t even topped a single three per game, so the evolution there is real.

Wood being an outside shooter matters quite a bit as that’s what Golden State is missing in their frontcourt. Couple his shooting with his length that can help the team’s league-best defense, and Wood becomes an ideal addition.

The cost may not be there as Wood would likely require either a first-round pick or Wiseman. However, he would arguably make them title favorites, so it could be worth the Warriors valuable assets.
