Should the Golden State Warriors sell high on Andrew Wiggins?
Ever since the Golden State Warriors traded for Andrew Wiggins, some have been waiting for them to trade him away. The main hatred for Wiggins isn’t in his personality or what he’s done off the court. It’s really not about his play either.
It’s more about his contract, one that’s been deemed among the worst in the league. The former No. 1 overall pick signed a max-value deal when he was a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Golden State Warriors, due to Andrew Wiggins’ strong play this season, have an out if they want to trade him. Should they consider it?
That made him difficult to trade for Minnesota until the Warriors opted to shake things up and deal D’Angelo Russell for the forward. It turned out to be a home run trade for the Warriors, who also brought in the draft pick was would eventually turn into Jonathan Kuminga.
Wiggins played well last season, exceeding expectations. This season, he’s elevated his game even further, becoming one of the best two-way players on the team. He’s averaging the second-most points per game at 18.8 per game while shooting a career-high 49% from the field.
With that in mind, the Warriors may be able to sell high on the potential All-Star forward. Should they though? Let’s dive into why and why not.
