Why they absolutely shouldn’t

Wiggins has the perfect skill set for what the Warriors need. For starters, Wiggins has been shooting at career-high levels. Had that not been the case, the reasoning to trade him would be far stronger.

However, with the Warriors, he’s unlocked his potential, a level many didn’t think he could hit. Once hailed as just an inefficient scorer, Wiggins has lowered his scoring and increased his efficiency.

This season, it’s been his defense that’s helped elevate the Warriors to one of the best teams in the NBA. No, it’s ignorant to say Wiggins deserves the 25th-most money this season in the league, but it’s certainly not as bad as it seems.

Wiggins also has, per Basketball-Reference, the best defensive rating of his career. Having taken on the challenge of guarding players like Kevin Durant and James Harden among several others, Wiggins has turned into a vital piece of the Warriors roster.

He’s just been too important to consider trading, and while he’s not a top-25 player, he’s certainly a top-40 player, especially this season.
