2. Kevon Looney

Kevon Looney does not have to prove himself at this point. He has been with the Golden State Warriors through thick and thin.

But, Looney’s importance is at an all-time high with a lack of big-men on the roster to fill in for each other and a number of All-Star caliber centers that will threaten the Dubs come playoff time.

The Warriors are clinging onto hope that James Wiseman will return soon and provide the rim protection they are looking for. Until then, however, Looney is their best and only option to bang consistently in the paint.

Looney is averaging a career-high 5.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. He recorded the second double-double of his career when he hauled in 17 rebounds (another career-high) and notched 11 points in a victory over Minnesota.

Along with Draymond Green, Looney has been one of the hidden reasons for Golden State’s league-leading defense. He’s accepted the challenge of anchoring an undersized frontcourt all season long and there is no way the Dubs will be able to replace him when the playoffs begin.
