Klay Thompson update bound to warm Golden State Warriors’ hearts
The Golden State Warriors have been patient with their star guard Klay Thompson, with fans having hoped they’d see the 31 year-old before the new year.
But there was another strong sign of Thompson’s imminent return on Thursday, largely thanks to the postponement of the Warriors scheduled game in Denver. With the Nuggets failing to produce enough fit and healthy players for the game to go ahead, the Dubs instead got in a scrimmage amongst themselves.
Wait no longer, Klay Thompson is going to make his return in 2022 and the Golden State Warriors do not plan on holding back.
That paved the way for Thompson to play with his fellow splash brother, Stephen Curry, for the first time since he tore his ACL in the 2019 NBA Finals. In footage that’s sure to warm the hearts of fans, the Warriors official Instagram page shared a clip of Thompson assisting a Curry triple.

There was another big update in relation to Thompson’s return, with coach Steve Kerr confirming the five time all-star will start when he makes his return. Although that comes as no surprise, it’s still exciting to hear Kerr discuss having Thompson back in the lineup.
Finally, NBA Insider at The Athletic, Shams Charania, made his prediction on what date Thompson will return to action following his two serious injuries.
"“…as he continues to get each and every day of rest in, that January 9th game against the Cavaliers at home after a quick two-game road trip, that’s a game that makes a lot of sense.”"
It seems the Splash Brothers will reunite in early January, giving Thompson plenty of time to ramp up for the second half of the season as Golden State eyes another title run.
The Warriors are a league leading 27-7 in Thompson’s absence, spurring plenty of optimism around the team’s potential once their starting two-guard returns.
