3 Ways Klay Thompson’s return elevates Golden State Warriors

Klay Thompson bolsters Golden State Warriors’ defense
The Golden State Warriors are boasting one of the best defenses in modern basketball. Their ability to switch and adapt to any circumstance makes them a tough team to foil.
The multi-faceted skillset of names like Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Gary Payton II, Kevon Looney, Damion Lee and Jonathan Kuminga allow for the Warriors to accept any challenge in front of them.
When Klay Thompson returns, the margin for error becomes even smaller for opponents.
Thompson is the epitome of modern perimeter defense. He can comfortably check opposing ball handlers and has the length/muscle to stymie most forwards.
While it is fair to question if Thompson will still have the lateral mobility to cover the NBA’s most elite guards — we can give him the benefit of the doubt.
It might come as a surprise that Klay has only been selected to one All-Defensive team. After all, he is one of the most vital assets to a defense that has been near the top of the league for nearly a decade.
Regardless, Thompson doesn’t strike me as the type who cares much for individual accolades. Klay, like the rest of the Dubs, have only one goal in mind. His presence on defense will help them content for a championship this season.
