Why the Golden State Warriors have beat contenders: Effort

There is a different feel around this Golden State Warriors team than in the past two seasons. Well, for one, without Curry or Thompson combining for over five games, the Warriors were held to 15 wins two seasons ago.

Then, last season, despite getting that last seed in the playoff rankings, they were eliminated in the play-in tournament. In the latter season, Golden State was solely led by Curry. This time around, he’s getting some help.

The team’s effort has been far better as well. Down at half against the Suns and having lost the third quarter by 19 against Utah, the Warriors had to fight back twice on the road. That’s not easy to do.

While the Warriors showed their effort and snagged more offensive rebounds than the Suns in their last meeting, against the Jazz, the Dubs showcased their effort in their selflessness, totaling 20 more assists, a complete game-changer.

The Warriors have teams like Miami and Milwaukee in their next six games. While they’re proven they can hang, they must continue to do it, and these next few weeks should do just that.
