3 premier trade target the slumping Warriors should consider
Golden State Warriors trade target: Eric Gordon
Gordon, a guard for the Houston Rockets, has also greatly improved his shooting from the field and has taken on more of a leadership role within an ultra-young Houston franchise. In his 14 seasons in the NBA, he is shooting the highest he ever has at 49.4% from the field.
Up 6.1% from last year’s measly 43.3%. Per 36 minutes, Gordon is tallying 18 points. He’s been thriving with the Rockets this season, and he may be playing so well that he gains enough trade value that the Rockets can’t help themselves.
A former Sixth Man of the Year, Gordon’s most impressive figure so far this season is likely his three-point percentage. It’s over 45% for the first time in his career. Gordon looks like the veteran leader that the Rockets need him to be.
However, for a championship-contending team like Golden State, they may prefer that alongside a Jordan Poole-like talent. While Poole is a proven stud, he’s not had the big-game minutes that Gordon has.
While it’s unlikely they trade for him, being Gordon off the bench would be a huge positive for the Warriors.
