The Golden State Warriors, because of their head-to-head record against Phoenix, currently have the best record in the NBA at 30-9.

Fans around the NBA world have been surprised at the ability of Golden State to click as a whole so soon, especially when taking into account that five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson has only played one game.

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the best franchises in all of sports since 2014-15, showcasing a sustained level of excellence that not many organizations have been able to achieve.

So, what makes them special and has them on a current 60-win pace this season?

The work Steve Kerr and the front office has done with this roster has been nothing short of spectacular. Many people expected this team to hover around the play-in seeding until the return of Klay Thompson.

Not even many Warrior diehard fans saw the likes of Jordan Poole, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Gary Payton II elevating this team to the number one overall seed almost halfway into the season. It’s been a terrific ride that’s far from over.

Blossoming those key players and making offseason moves to bring in guys like Otto Porter Jr., and Nemanja Bjelica cannot be understated. These important pieces to this dynamic Golden State team have lightened the load for Stephen Curry.

Last year, Curry didn’t have the requisite help night in and night out. He often needed to score 30 points for the Warriors to just be competitive, whereas now there have been a handful of games where they have won and he has shot the ball poorly.

The players mentioned above that have helped the Warriors might not be the sexiest of names or win any popularity contests.

However, they are a testament to how smart this Warrior organization is. The roster tweaks and the way the team is responding to Kerr has solidified Kerr and general manager Bob Myers to be in the running for end-of-the-year awards.

It will now be interesting to see how the Dubs will respond to the return of Klay and the eventual arrival of James Wiseman to the mix.

One would have to imagine that the Warriors will only get better from here, and that should mean more praise for the outstanding job that Steve Kerr and Bob Myers have done.
