Warriors player that’ll take time adjusting: Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins is going to have to adjust to playing most of his minutes alongside Thompson and not Poole. Wiggins has struggled since Thompson’s return, and there’s no reason to think Thompson’s return won’t influence how he plays moving forward.

Wiggins played over 33 minutes in both games.

He shot 9 times against the Cavaliers and 12 times against Memphis, both his lowest of the season when clocking that many minutes. While Thompson’s impact on the court should not have a negative influence on Wiggins, adjusting to playing alongside him will be a must.

Shooting a career-high from the field and from three-point range, Wiggins has been an incredibly impactful player for the Warriors this season and is a key reason why they’re a top-two team in the Western Conference.

He’s averaging 18.6 points and 2.2 threes per game (shooting 42% from deep) this season. While his attempts may be limited, having a player like Thompson should help Wiggins get easier matchups and more open shots.

Nonetheless, Wiggins has played substandard since Thompson’s return, and hopefully, he’ll get back to the level he’s been at throughout the season.
