Warriors’ trade target that makes sense: Aaron Holiday

Another player that could be a realistic target is Wizards’ point guard Aaron Holiday. Holiday is just 25 and has spent the last three seasons with the Indiana Pacers.

He’s played in 36 games and started 10. Holiday is averaging 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. However, he’s not getting the minutes that he did in Indiana. Per 36 minutes, those averages bounce up to 13.8, 3.7, and 4.2.

Holiday may not be the star acquisition some would hope for, but he’s quietly having an extremely efficient season, and that shouldn’t be overlooked. He’s shooting 47% from the field and 37.5% from deep. Holiday is also a quality defender.

Combine his defense and efficiency, and Holiday would serve well as a backup point guard.

He would also be the cheapest of the three to acquire and also make the most sense financially. However, with many capable ball handlers, there’s no telling if the Warriors view adding a backup piont guard would be worth it.
