Golden State Warriors: A team playing off each other

One reason the Golden State Warriors are so good is that they have a roster that’s unselfish and will play off each other. Golden State doesn’t technically rank first in assists per game, but they do sit No. 1 overall in assist percentage.

The Warriors rank second in assists per game and second in assist ratio. This team understands how to find the open player, and they also don’t play a ton of isolation basketball which helps them avoid cold stretches of play.

While Curry has the ability to take defenders on, the more consistent and fluid offenses we see in the NBA thrive off ball movement. The Warriors rank No. 1 in assist rate their last two trips to the Finals, and their only one without Kevin Durant, the Warriors ranked second in assist rate.

While it’s not the most important factor, it does show how important being able to move the ball and play unselfishly is to ultimately win at the highest level in basketball.

That said, the Warriors are playing at a high level and playing for it each, and that will play into how successful they moving forward.
