It’s been a fantastic first half of the season for the Golden State Warriors, and Andrew Wiggins has been almost more impressive than the team as a whole. Wiggins was named an All-Star Game starter.

Given this is going to be his first appearance in the game, being dubbed a starter is high praise. Being in Golden State with one of the most diehard fanbases in the NBA certainly helps a bit.

The Warriors are likely to stay put as the 2022 trade deadline nears, but there’s no denying that trading Andrew Wiggins could bring in a big-name star.

Wiggins and two-time MVP Stephen Curry were both announced as Western Conference starters. Draymond Green was also nominated but won’t actually take the court as he’s been nursing a back injury.

As for Wiggins, he’s averaging 18.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game so far this season. While his numbers aren’t among the best of his career, his efficiency, which is what most teams care more about, is at career-high levels.

Shooting 48.6% from the field, Wiggins has been a key for the Warriors, but with his contract, trading Wiggins is also the only way Golden State brings in another superstar-caliber player. That said, let’s dive into the case to and against trading Wiggins.
