Golden State Warriors can pursue Marc Gasol

The Golden State Warriors have had their eyes on Marc Gasol for quite some time. It might never happen but it remains their dream scenario.

Pros

Anthony Slater of The Athletic explained why Gasol would be the Dubs’ main option if they become active in the buyout market.

"“The only thing I could see is maybe a buyout big. Somewhat of a dream scenario is if Marc Gasol wanted to come back to the league. I don’t know if either side would be interested, but I know in the past when Marc Gasol signed with the Lakers they were trying to get Marc Gasol and almost did.” Anthony Slater on 95.7 The Game"

It’s hard to argue against this. Gasol is the veteran presence the Dubs are looking for to anchor their defense through adversity. He won’t play high minutes but he can be counted on when they need him most.

Cons

The biggest problem here is how unlikely it seems. Gasol hasn’t expressed much interest in returning to the league and he already captured his championship in 2019. How motivated would he be to come back?

Again, this is the type of tough decision the Dubs need to make. If they can even convince Gasol to return, would it be worth it? Only time can tell.
