The Golden State Warriors will likely endeavor into the buyout market and how that could help improve their roster.

Following a game against the Utah Jazz in which the Dubs were drastically outrebounded, Golden State should look towards potential free agents that could help solve that problem. There is one name that looms large, and it’s veteran center, Robin Lopez.

Robin Lopez could see a buyout in his near future, and if that’s the case, the Golden State Warriors should highly consider signing him.

The Warriors would need to release a player as well in order to add another. Guard Damion Lee and forward Juan Toscano-Andeson both seem to be names being tossed around, but that’s all just speculation.

As for Lopez, he signed to play with the Orlando Magic this season, and there’s just no good reason for him to stay there with the Magic so far out of playoff contention. Orlando should prefer to play younger centers like Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr.

He signed a one-year, $5 million deal, but if bought out, the veteran’s minimum will likely be that he gets acquired for. Lopez has played 25 games for the Magic, starting 9. That said, let’s dive into why he’s the quintessential buyout target.
