Robin Lopez can help Golden State Warriors

If the Golden State Warriors need a towering center to clog up the paint in the playoffs, Robin Lopez is their man.

Pros

The most obvious benefit of adding Lopez is his size. He’s a true seven-footer with broad shoulders and the willingness to get physical down low. Lopez is a great screen setter and will use his body to make life more difficult for names like Rudy Gobert, Nikola Jokic and Deandre Ayton.

He won’t play extended minutes but his presence would be valuable in the playoffs. Lopez can drain opponents of their energy while offering a helping hand to the overworked Kevon Looney and inexperienced James Wiseman.

Cons

Like most buyout candidates, Lopez is up there in age. He’s 33 years old and has lost most of the athleticism he had to begin with. He’s a lumbering big man who might be played off the floor in more high-paced enviroments.
