Curry’s slump and Thompson’s consistent absence

Although Curry has shown signs of breaking out of his poor performance this season, especially during his game against the Clippers where he shot 11-for-18 from the field and 8-for-13 from three, he still has not yet had two consecutive good games in months.

Although Dragic is not Curry, and never will be, he can bring in some short-term relief while Curry continues to work his way out of this cold spell. Dragic could also play a heavier role in back-to-back games when Klay Thompson has to sit.

Dragic has a history of playing the two-guard spot as well as his long history at the one.

Dragic could either stay off the bench and play the two behind Jordan Poole, or he can start at shooting guard to help keep the young star’s role consistent. Either way, Dragic can find a way to succeed.

Dragic has the ability to bring microwave offense off the bench, be a leader in the locker room, or move the ball, keeping Jordan Poole and Damion Lee, who occasionally struggle to do so, connected to the Warriors style of basketball.

Although Dragic may not be the perfect fit for the Golden State Warriors’ long-term plans, he could be a major piece of a championship run this season.
