Golden State Warriors should sign additional depth

The Golden State Warriors could use another big man, and it’s going to be something that could haunt them in the playoffs. We saw just how undersized they are when the Rudy Gobert-less Jazz basically won a game based on extra chances created by offensive rebounds.

While Green and Kevon Looney do give some size, neither stand over 6-foot-9, so they are dwarfed against players like Deandre Ayton or Gobert. Hassan Whiteside was the player who had his way with Golden State.

The Warriors rank 10th in defensive rebounding rate this season; however, they drop to 23rd in their last 10 games.

Green has an impact on that, but it’s more than just the absence of the four-time All-Star forward. The Warriors either need James Wiseman to be a competent role player on a championship-contending or to sign a player like Robin Lopez who could be bought out in the next few weeks.

Either would solve their issue, and with the buyout market potentially heating up with Goran Dragic now a free agent, the Warriors may be able to snag a veteran for cheap in the coming week.
