Golden State Warriors should keep Jonathan Kuminga in the rotation

Generally speaking, this isn’t necessarily a move that Steve Kerr should make after the All-Star Weekend, but it is something that should be taken into consideration. That’s the role of rookie forward Jonathan Kuminga.

Kuminga, who was a consensus top-5 pick, fell in the draft with teams increasingly concerned with his shooting and decision-making.

While his shooting may not be elite yet, Kuminga has turned into a dynamic hustle player. He’s been a key rebounder and also been keen with his cuts to the basket. Kuminga has scored double figures in 8 straight games.

Over his last 19 games, Kuminga is averaging 12.4 points per game and shooting 54% from the field. He’s transitioned into a staple of this team, and with Porter Jr. healthy and Green getting back to full strength, the competition for minutes at the four will heat up.

Let’s hope Kerr opts to keep Kuminga as a focal point of the rotation. That will be a huge storyline to keep an eye on as we transition into the final third of the season.
