Getting to the Line

In terms of free throws attempted, Kuminga’s 4.6 in the month of February ranks first among his fellow rookies.

His ability to get to the line with elite footwork and insane burst has helped the Warriors in getting to the charity stripe – a dimension in which they have underperformed this season (the Dubs currently ranks 23rd  of 30 NBA teams).

Nearly 20% of Golden State’s 20.9 free throw attempts per game in February 2022 were generated by the 19-year-old. One facet of Kuminga’s game that has noticeably improved throughout the course of the season has been his free throw percentage.

Between October and January, he was shooting 64.2% on his 2.1 attempts per game; in February, his percentage improved by nearly 10% to hit 73.2% for the month on those flashy 4.6 attempts per game.

Kuminga’s aggression and ability to cut to the basketball has been huge for Golden State.
