The Golden State Warriors have lost their mojo but an opportunity to pounce on another wounded team should not be overlooked as the Dubs can build momentum with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Golden State has dropped three straight games for the first time this season and has lost seven of their last 10 games. But, you know what, the Lakers have lost eight of 10 during the same stretch.

The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers are both wounded heading into their Saturday night matchup. The Dubs must bounce back.

Neither team has looked particularly strong since January. While the Dubs rattled off a nine-game winning streak not too long ago, their production has trailed off significantly as Draymond Green’s absence continues to become more noticeable.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are missing Anthony Davis — who seems to always be missing. It might not make a difference either way as the roster constructed around LeBron James is one of the worst he has ever played with and that’s saying something.

The collection of Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Malik Monk, Talen Horton Tucker, Trevor Ariza and Dwight Howard just is not the type of talent you want around a guy like James — who thrives with proper spacing and shot creators around him.

Los Angeles is currently at 27-35 with the ninth-best record in the West. The Warriors, on the other hand, remain in second place with a 43-20 record, holding a slight advantage over the Memphis Grizzlies.

While Golden State will not be able to truly gain momentum until Draymond Green returns and James Wiseman makes his season debut, they have an opportunity to pounce on a wounded Lakers team and take a step back in the right direction.

The Warriors last played the Lakers on Feb. 12, winning a 117-115 thriller behind 33 points from Klay Thompson.
