Andrew Wiggins, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson all took the night off as the Warriors traveled to Ball Arena to take on the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors opted to give their stars the night off, and it resulted in a loss to the surprise of no one.

Golden State entered the match as 8.5-point favorites, so they did cover the spread.

The Golden State Warriors have now lost 9 of their last 11, dropping Monday night’s game to the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets.

For yet another time this season, the Warriors’ heavily limited roster put up a strong fight. Earlier in the year, the Warriors defeated the Spurs without many of their top players. The Warriors made a valiant effort, entering the fourth down just 3, yet still came up short.

The final score was 131-124. It was the Dubs’ first-half defensive struggles that partially doomed them.

They allowed 71 points to the Nuggets through the first 24 minutes of action. However, Golden State went into the half down just 2 and entered the fourth quarter down just 3, so they have the opportunity to win the game in front of them for most of the night.

One bright spot was the play of rookie guard Moses Moody. Both the team’s lottery picks, Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, have been bright spots for the Warriors.

Moody dropped a career-high 30 points. Jordan Poole led the team with 32 though. Moody ended the night 10-for-23 from the field and 5-for-12 from deep. He chipped in 1 assist and 3 rebounds as well. Moody also ended the night with 3 turnovers.

Moody has been incredible as of late, having a big-time impact on the Dubs loss to the Mavericks a few games ago. On the road, the combined 62 points from Poole and Moody just weren’t enough.

The Warriors lost their entire four-game roadtrip and will hopefully return home and look to win. They’ll get one game against the Clippers before heading back to Ball Arena for another battle with Denver.

Much of the Warriors struggles have been due to Draymond Green’s absence, but he’s projecting a March 14 return date. They’ll likely return to their winning way when Green gets back on the court.  Let’s hope they win of their 3 games before then though.
