Start Jordan Poole

This one is tough as it comes with the harsh reality that Klay Thompson might need to play the sixth man role until he is healthy enough to compete each night. As of now, keeping Jordan Poole reserved to the bench even when Thompson is taking a game off for rest is hindering the Golden State Warriors.

Poole has come off the bench in 24 games this season with the Dubs going 13-11 in these matches. In contrast, the Warriors are 27-9 when Poole is in the starting lineup.

Also worth noting, Draymond Green has been absent in each game Poole has been out of the starting lineup.

Nevertheless, Poole is in the midst of a career-high year, posting 16.6 points and 3.5 assists on 44.8 percent shooting from the floor.

Meanwhile, Thompson is having a difficult time finding his mojo again. He’s shooting career-lows from the field and 3-point line, and more importantly, Klay hasn’t been able to suit up each night.

Golden State is 11-8 with Klay in the lineup this season and 33-14 without him (4-4 without him since his return).

There is no doubt the inconsistent lineups have made it more difficult for a Warriors team that is already working against numerous key injuries. Perhaps slotting Poole into the starting five and allowing Thompson to work his way back into the starting lineup gradually would help the team hit its stride.
