James Wiseman

Risk level: High

No one on the Golden State Warriors is at a higher risk of being traded than James Wiseman. The young center is full of unrealized potential and the Dubs might sell his stock before finding out if he’ll ever reach his ceiling.

It’s impossible to deny Wiseman’s promise. He has size, athleticism and all of the makings of a rim-running center. Yet, his limitations have been glaring and the Warriors do not have all the time in the world to wait on him to develop.

It’s not his fault that a global pandemic and knee injury has hindered his ability to work on his game. Nonetheless, Golden State might not feel comfortable waiting another year for him to hit his stride if they fall in the postseason this year.

As a result, Wiseman is not only the most expendable member of the young core but also one of the more useful players on the roster in terms of trade value. No matter what type of changes the Dubs make this summer, you can expect to hear Wiseman’s name mentioned in deals.
