This might be Damion Lee’s last chance

Damion Lee’s latest outing against the Boston Celtics was a good summation of how his production this season has declined. He clanked multiple wide-open 3-pointers before losing the ball on a drive to the hoop shortly before Stephen Curry’s injury occurred.

Lee has had brief stretches where he acted as a prototypical 3-and-D wing who can fill in perfectly on the Warriors’ bench. However, since February, Lee is shooting only 31.3% from deep and has lost his impact.

With so many players jockeying for minutes on the roster, this could serve as Lee’s last chance to earn consistent minutes before the playoffs start. If he can’t find his rhythm, there is little reason for the Warriors to give him playing time over someone like Moses Moody.

More importantly, Lee’s future with the team is in jeopardy if he doesn’t spark a fire soon. He’s one of their most expendable assets and his contract expires after this season. Lee has to prove himself before it’s too late.
