Slowing down Joel Embiid would be impossible in the NBA Finals

The road to the NBA Finals is full of potentially backbreaking obstacles. But, if the Golden State Warriors manage to plow through the Western Conference to make their first NBA Finals berth since 2019 — their greatest challenge of all could be waiting for them.

Philly’s chances of making it to the finals are shakey, at best. The addition of James Harden has not been too reassuring as his erratic performances have everyone questioning if another playoff meltdown is on the way.

Even so, it’s impossible to deny Joel Embiid.

The Process is leading the MVP race with 29.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He’s a menace from all three levels on offense and continues to be one of the best defensive anchors you could ask more.

Most notably, he’s getting to the free throw line at a league-high rate. Shooting nearly 12 foul shots a game, the Dubs have a tall task ahead of them.

Why is this? Well, the Dubs currently commit the fourth-most fouls in the league. Taking on the best foul-baiter in the league with an undersized frontcourt is a recipe for disaster in Golden State.
