3 X-factors that will heavily impact Warriors playoff run
X-factor with strong impact on Warriors playoff run: Jordan Poole’s role
Jordan Poole was the Warriors’ go-to option without Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in the lineup against the Heat. Despite being heavy underdogs, the Dubs beat Miami behind 30 from Poole.
Poole hasn’t necessarily been the team’s primary option this season, especially when he’s come off the bench. Poole is scoring 19.9 points per game as a starter, and he’s at just 13.7 per game coming off the bench. The Warriors are a better team when Poole is thriving.
Golden State is 9-5 when Poole scores at least 25 points. He needs to have a big impact on the Warriors postseason, especially with Thompson set to shoot under 40% from three for the first time in his career.
When the Warriors are clicking and playing their best basketball, Poole is involved. He’s taken the next step in his play this season, and for the Dubs to win an NBA Championship, they’re going to need Poole to be in a role he thrives in.
It’ll be interesting if Poole in the starting lineup is a move head coach Steve Kerr makes when he finally has his team back at full strength.
