No. 2 – The ‘We Believe’ miracle run.

Since the iconic era of Run-TMC led by Warriors legends, Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway, and Mitch Richmond run by legendary head coach Don Nelson was broken up in 1991, the Warriors struggled to win consistently.

This included missing the playoffs 13 times, twelve consecutively.

This wouldn’t improve much in the 2006-07 season as they only won 42 games but it was enough to make their first playoff berth in over a decade. This was also their last until 2013.

Though they were only a lowly eight seed facing the Goliath of a team that was the Dallas Mavericks, featuring reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki, the Warriors never gave up hope.

Fans showed up in huge numbers to show support for the underdog Warriors, though nobody thought they could realistically win.

No team that was in the eighth seed had ever won since they increased the length of the first round to seven games.

That would change this year. The Warriors would have an offensive explosion of 30+ points in 5 out of the six games played. The Mavericks’ defense just was unable to defeat the Warriors’ explosive offense, becoming the first top-seeded team to lose in the first round in a best of seven series.

This Warriors team has been a fan favorite for years with one of the most iconic jerseys in the 75-year history of the team. Featured on this roster were fan favorites Monte Ellis, Baron Davis, and Jason Richardson.

The roster also included some incredibly underrated players that have immortalized themselves in the history of the franchise such as Matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson, and Andris Biedrins.

The fifteen-year anniversary of this historic upset is May third of this year.
