You just know LeBron James was not going to stay out of the spotlight for very long even after the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from playoff contention. Nope, a comment made on HBO’s The Shop about James’ wishes to play with Stephen Curry has officially gone viral.
It’s not exactly a secret that LeBron has admiration for Curry. He drafted him twice as captain of the NBA All-Star team and has always given props to one of his biggest rivals.
Still, James has never been so open about wanting to team up with Curry. When asked which NBA player he would most want to play with, besides his son, of course, there was hardly a pause before James responded with Steph.
"“Steph Curry’s the one that I wanna play with for sure, in today’s game. … I love everything about that guy. Lethal. When he get out his car, you better guard him right from the moment he pulls up to the arena. … You might wanna guard him when he get out of the bed. Swear to god. He’s serious.”LeBron James on HBO The Shop"
It did not take long for the news to get to Steph, where he bluntly replied “I’m good,” before delving a little deeper into what it means for one of the greatest of all time to say he wants to play with you.

On another note, it’s hard to tell if Curry was simply looking to avoid catching a fine for tampering — or if he really is indifferent to playing with the King.
Regardless, the question I have today: is this even possible?
Could LeBron James and Stephen Curry ever join forces on the Golden State Warriors? Yes, but it probably should not and would not happen.
Surprisingly, yes.
It’s obvious that Curry and James could one day decide to sign with the same team in the future. It would take a while, as Curry will not be a free agent again until 2026, but it could happen.
More interestingly is how James could end up on the Golden State Warriors. While certainly a far cry, it would be financially possible to trade Andrew Wiggins, a flurry of draft picks and perhaps a combination of Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and Moses Moody to obtain LeBron from the Lakers.
Would the Warriors want to do this? Most likely not. At least, if we are judging by how they have held tight to their young assets up to this point. It’s hard to see them giving everything up for a player who is nearing 40.
Nevertheless, from a strictly hypothetical standpoint — sure, it is possible we could see Curry and James play together in the Bay. I just wouldn’t get my hopes up.
