It has been a long time coming… but they are back. The Golden State Warriors made a statement in their 123-107 victory over the Denver Nuggets to kick off the 2022 NBA Playoffs.

The Dubs have been navigating murky water ever since Klay Thompson returned in January. A carousel of injuries have held them back from being at full strength each year since 2019 but the team is finally at full strength (sort of) and they showed just how deadly they can be with a dominant win over Denver.

The Golden State Warriors’ double-digit victory over Denver could be the first of many dominant NBA Playoff games to come.

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Thompson made their highly anticipated return to the postseason after winning five straight Western Conference championships and disappearing off the face of the earth.

Expectations are naturally high for the three Hall-of-Famers — but it was a different name that stole the show on Saturday.

Yep, Jordan Poole continued ascending into stardom by drilling the Nuggets from every spot on the floor. He finished with 30 points, delivering back-breaking 3-pointers all night.

The scary thing is, Curry is still on a minutes restriction. The Warriors, as great as they looked on Saturday, can get even better. Nights like that from Poole will only be the cherry on top when the Splash Brothers get rolling.

Now, we don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves. The road is still filled with possible obstacles and the Warriors are 15 wins away from winning a championship. Yet, there is no doubt they have returned to the forefront of the NBA.

No matter what you think about the Warriors, there is no denying they have just as much firepower as any other team in the league. It’s possible they are about to peak at precisely the right time and steamroll the rest of the NBA en route to a title.
