Golden State Warriors key advantage: Experience

The Warriors have many players with major postseason experience. The Big 3 have been to five NBA Finals. That experience and understanding of the intensity of these games are going to be huge moving forward.

That’s one reason their turnover issues and potential size issues aren’t going to factor in as much as most think. Chemistry is going to be important in this series, especially as Memphis is going to try to push the pace.

Golden State has a core that’s been together for multiple seasons as well. Everyone also knows their role on the team, and with Kevon Looney having headed to the second unit in Game 5, it’s clear the team is also filled with unselfish players.

The unselfishness and experience that the Warriors are entering with are important. The Grizzlies haven’t won a playoff series prior to their first-round battle since 2015, a completely different roster ago.

While there aren’t many stats that help prove the experience is going to be a factor, the understanding of intensity along with how to play down the stretch will undoubtedly be important in this series, and that edge favors the Warriors.
