The Golden State Warriors lost Draymond Green in the second quarter. It was a flagrant 2 foul on Memphis’ Brandon Clarke. Let’s just say most of the NBA world, a group that seemingly loves to hate Green, had no idea why the extreme measure was warranted.
Both superstars Trae Young and Damian Lillard took to Twitter to make their opinions known.
Four-time All-Star forward Draymond Green was ejected in the first half of Game 1, and it was a move that shocked the NBA world.
Thankfully, the Warriors went into the break down just 6, and after losing Green and not shooting well along with being down double figures earlier in the half, that margin separating the two teams felt like a win for the Dubs.
Losing Green was far from a positive though. Here’s the play that the referees gave Green a flagrant 2 for. It’s paramount to see and decide your opinion before coming to the same conclusion that most of NBA Twitter did.
Prior to getting into how Green was playing, let’s see what a few of the NBA’s superstars had to say on the matter.
They don’t have to name Green for us to know what the two are talking about.
Young hints at the fact that the refs make different calls for different playing, noting that they were referring Green, who has a tradition of yelling at officials, and not the actual play. Lillard just gets more simple and into the fact that the flagrant 2 should have a more detailed explanation.
Green had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists to go along with 3 steals as well.
However, he did also have 5 turnovers, and the Warriors seemed to rally around the fact that Green wasn’t in the game. It might’ve been a small win for the Dubs. Green headed to the locker room with a smile on his face after hyping up the bench.
The Warriors entered the fourth quarter up just 1 and will look to close the game out behind an electric performance from Jordan Poole.
