The Golden State Warriors are focused on more important things than setting another individual record — but it is inevitable Stephen Curry becomes the first player in NBA history to total 500 postseason 3-pointers.

Curry entered Game 2 against the Memphis Grizzlies only 6 away from being the first to surpass the 500 mark. He cut this margin in half, now sitting at 497 total 3-pointers.

Behind him, in second place all-time, is LeBron James with 432 total 3-pointers. The two are the only players to surpass 400 3-pointers in the playoffs.

At least, that was until Game 2 when Klay Thompson broke the barrier by making two 3-pointers for a career total of 401.

From there, Ray Allen, James Harden, Kevin Durant, Manu Ginobili, Reggie Miller, Danny Green and J.R. Smith (294 total 3-pointers) round out the top 10.

And then, there is Curry, who sits on the edge of making history once again.

Stephen Curry is on the verge of becoming the first NBA player to surpass 500 career playoff 3-pointers, all in a Golden State Warriors uniform.

As you know, Curry is no stranger to records. He became the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers earlier in the season, passing Ray Allen and becoming the first to net more than 3,000 deep balls.

The same goes for the single-season record. Curry’s 2015-16 unanimous MVP run saw him total 402 3-pointers, making him the only player to ever make more than 400 in a single season.

When looking at the list, it’s likely Curry will be the only member of the postseason 500 club for quite some time. The only other active players are Thompson, James, Harden, Durant and Green — who are all in the latter stages of their careers and well below the threshold. Paul George is the next closest active player at just 158 total 3-pointers.

As for younger names, Luka Doncic and Trae Young likely have the best chance of one day joining Curry. Both are on a good pace to hit the threshold, assuming long and prosperous careers.

And yet, there will always only ever be one Stephen Curry.
