Warriors player who could step up: Andre Iguodala

Andre Iguodala played 42 minutes in the first series and has been sidelined since.

Iguodala could be a key player against Memphis if he’s able to take the court. His championship instincts and masterclass defending would both be huge for the Dubs in replacing what Payton II gave them.

Iggy would likely only get in the teens with his minutes, but considering Payton II wasn’t a high-volume player in terms of minutes, getting some contribution from the veteran forward would b enough.

Iggy averaged just 4 points per game and shot 38% from the field. He’s a 46% career playoff shooter, so he should be able to be a tad better when it matters most. Iguodala has been inconsistent this season, but he’s still a quality veteran that can give some impactful minutes.

If there’s a player who can replace a defensive-first mindset, it’s Iguodala, but he’s 38 years old and has struggled to stay on the court. He could make a comeback and play a role, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
