Golden State Warriors’ player who has disappointed: Klay Thompson

I understand Thompson played very well against Denver, and his overall playoff numbers are solid.

Over the course of the 8 games, he’s averaging 20.1 points per game and shooting 46% from the field and 41% from deep. Those are quality numbers that are in line with his career averages. However, the guard’s second-round series is why he’s on this list.

Thompson’s recent play has been a dampening on his overall strong performance. Over his last 3, Thompson is averaging just 16 points per game. That’s still pretty good.

His efficiency is what’s taken a hit as he’s shooting just 37% from the field and 32% from deep. The Warriors lost by 5 in Game 2, and Thompson shot just 5-for-19 from the field and 2-for-12 from deep.

He’s not the scapegoat for Golden State’s loss, but there’s no denying his recent play hasn’t lived up to par. He’s a proven star and should bounce back. When that happens, watch out as the Dubs should be able to close out their second-round series with ease.
