Warriors player that has helped stock: Otto Porter Jr.

Many of the Warriors’ key players struggled in Game 4, but it was veteran Otto Porter Jr. who stepped up in a big way. Porter Jr. was struggling for much of the first-round series, so this was a welcome sight for a player on a veteran’s minimum deal.

The former No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, Porter Jr. averaged 8.2 points per game during the regular season. He shot 46% from the field and 37% from deep. It was a solid season yet far from his best even in terms of his efficiencies.

Porter Jr.’s numbers waned in the first few playoff performances, but his size helped him stay part of the rotation.

This past in, Game 4, Porter Jr. was one of the lone bright lights offensively, scoring 12 points and hitting 4 triples. It was his second straight game hitting 3 or more triples. He’s averaged 7.8 points in 23.4 minutes per game during the Dubs-Grizzlies series.

The Warriors have needed him to step up both on the glass and from deep. He’s averaging 5.8 boards and 3 assists as well. It’s been a solid series, and his play throughout the season could help him earn a larger deal this offseason.
