Warriors player who deserves praise: Stephen Curry

While he didn’t shoot well from the field, the Warriors were only able to keep pace with the Grizzlies because of Curry’s playmaking. He led the team and was the most consistent threat for Golden State.

The two-time MVP averaged 26 points per game and no other Warriors player topped 19. He did shoot just 41% from the field and 33% from deep. Both of those will likely need to improve if the Warriors want to make their sixth NBA Finals appearance in 8 years.

Curry scored 29 or more points in each of the Golden State’s 3 home games during the series.

However, much of what was impressive about the star guard was his ability to make plays, averaging 5.8 assists per game to just 2.5 turnovers per game. Curry also got to the line 6.2 times per game, more than double that of the next highest Warriors player.

All-in-all, while we consistently take the greatness of Curry for granted and while it certainly wasn’t his best series, he does deserve praise after scoring 156 points in 6 games.
