Warriors player who deserves praise: Andrew Wiggins

The Golden State Warriors brought in Andrew Wiggins prior to the 2020 NBA Trade Deadline, a deal that allowed them to draft forward Jonathan Kuminga, who started a few games during the Warriors-Grizzlies series.

Wiggins played very well during the six games, averaging 15 points per game.

While that doesn’t sound impressive, he was the most efficient among Klay Thompson, Curry, and Jordan Poole. Wiggins shot 46.7% from the field and also chipped in 1.5 threes per game at the second-highest rate among those four stars.

An underrated aspect of what Wiggins does so well is his ability to get on the offensive glass.

He averaged 3.3 offensive boards per game, a team-high. He wasn’t the star, max-contract player people may have expected him to be, but he was a player that, if the Warriors didn’t have, they might not have escaped this series.

With the Western Conference Finals on deck, expect all three of these players to have big-time contributions in what will hopefully not be their last series.
