The 2022 NBA Draft Lottery took place last night and the Golden State Warriors were thankful not to be included in the festivities this time around. Still, a chance to trade their first round pick in the offseason could prove to be fruitful.

Golden State has made three selections in the lottery since 2020, a staggering number for a team that is just eight games away from winning a championship. With bright young prospects like Jonathan Kuminga, James Wiseman and Moses Moody joining a preexisting core — the future outlook for this franchise is in good shape.

The Golden State Warriors should look to trade their 2022 NBA Draft pick in order to bolster an already championship-caliber roster.

Given their current situation, do the Warriors really need another first round pick? Sure, there can be great value found in the late 20s, just ask Jordan Poole. Yet, the young core is already stacked and the current stars could use a bit more help to solidify themselves as championship contenders.

We don’t know how the 2022 NBA Playoffs will conclude but there is an avenue for the Warriors to get even better by flipping their draft pick in unison with a few other assets to gain a more useful player for their present-day adventures.
