The Golden State Warriors are going to be in an interesting situation over the next several months, and while their minds are more set on their current predicament, the Dallas Mavericks, important questions will loom large in the near future.

One of those questions is going to be what they do with center Kevon Looney, who will be a free agent following the season’s ending. Looney has been crucial in several big-time games for the Dubs this postseason.

The Golden State Warriors took Game 1 of the 2022 Western Conference Finals with ease, and upcoming free agent Kevon Looney played an important role.

Looney was originally awarded a 3-year, $15 million deal after a solid 2019 postseason, helping the Warriors defeat the Houston Rockets with his stellar defense when switched onto guard James Harden.

Looney had a few injuries derail the first two years of his contract, but he’s starting to shine at the right time.

Looney’s 22 rebounds, 11 of which were offensive, helped close out the Grizzlies, and his perfect 5-for-5 from the field again was a huge plus for the Warriors in Game 1 against the Mavs. He’s had several timely, outcome-changing performances.

With that in mind, Looney might get more money than the Warriors are willing to give this offseason, so here are three teams that could look to sign the Dubs’ former first-round pick.
