Teams that should target Warriors’ Kevon Looney: The Sacramento Kings

Mike Brown is going to the Kings, and there’s no reason they shouldn’t look to add Looney as well. There probably aren’t many people around the NBA that know the high-level impact a player like Looney can bring than Brown.

The Kings have more cap space than the Warriors, and they should be able to add Looney. He would fit well alongside 6-foot-11 forward Domantas Sabonis. De’Aaron Fox would also benefit from what Looney could bring as would Davion Mitchell.

Looney is simply a player you want on your team.

Given Sacramento also had major size issues last season and hasn’t instilled a winning culture, adding Brown and Looney makes sense. The Kings ranked 26th in rebounds per game. That’s a problem, especially when they also ranked 20th in shooting efficiency and played a high pace.

With the fourth overall pick, Jaden Ivey is the likely top option, keeping the Kings need for size at the forefront of their to-do list. Looney will be a cheap option, one that brings in that win-now culture.
